Have you ever heard about Little Tokyo at Melawai? This place is very popular throughout Japanese expatriate who assigned to Jakarta. You could see them everywhere in this restaurant. What I like from restaurant at Little Tokyo is their authentic Japanese food taste! I heard from some Japanese friends, this Little Tokyo is similar to restaurants they used to go in Japan, so that's the reason why almost all of Japanese expatriate know this area. Well I normally go once a week to this Little Tokyo Melawai and now I am going to share about two restaurant: Daitokyo Sakaba & Kira-Kira Ginza!
These restaurants are located just across to Blok M Square.
And they only separated by 2 stores. Apparently they are managed under same management.

Although the interior style is very japanese style, these 2 restaurants are a bit different with other japanese restaurant in Melawai because you can see many Indonesian guests.

My all time favorite of Kira-Kira Ginza is their Kimchi! I don't really understand what is the different between Japanese and Korean Kimchi, but the taste of Kira-Kira Ginza Kimchi is simply fresh and tasty. I think everything is in an enough portion, they don't put any MSG and spicy level is enough.

I ordered Takoyaki too, because this menu is not available in Daitokyo Sakaba. Their takoyaki size is quite big for me and consists of 6 takoyaki which can make your tummy full. Taste? Japanese tasty taste :D
I recommend you to try their other dishes such as: Kushiyaki Moriawase, Kinoko Butter, Mobu Tofu, Tori Karaage, Sushi Moriawase.
Or you might try some other new things. Don't worry all of their dishes are tasty. Even my Japanese friends said their food is better than the one he ate in Japan!
Now movin' to the next restaurant and see Daitokyo Sakaba. Seems like this restaurant is more popular than Kira-Kira Ginza as everytime I came here the place is always crowded by Indonesian and Japanese guests. I saw some Indonesian artist also visit this restaurant. The interior is very Izakaya. Some small room divided by nice woods and some seat in the bar side facing their kitchen.
The things I like from this restaurant beside their authentic japanese taste is comparing to the other restaurant they have bigger size of kushiyaki! :D and my favorite is their fried Kawa (chicken skin)! And make sure you also try their spicy ramen with certain level!
Tsukune (miched beef served in a bamboo just like sate buntel in Indonesia) topped with yolk is also a good choice to try:
